Tomasu
Dutch soy sauce with a story
A special collaboration between craftsmen whose inspiration is running at full speed. A story began three years ago.Tomasu let his soy sauce mature — slowly, in wooden barrels full of character and micro-details that only time can create. In the same wood, Rokkakkei saw a new future. After years of drying, research and testing, the barrel got a second soul.
CRAFT WITH A STORY: BARREL, WOOD AND DESIGN
It was a handmade handle — not just a handle, but a hexagonal shape that bears the hallmark of Rokkakkei. Each facet preserves traces of the barrel and the taste history that lived in it.
The result is an object where two worlds come together: the depth of fermented taste and the precision of design.
A knife that recalls time, dedication and craft.
From barrel to hand. From taste to shape.
Every part exudes craftsmanship:
- Tomasu brought the barrel wood: steeped in years of fermentation, aroma and tradition.
- Rokkakkei gave it a new shape: sleek hexagonal design, carefully finished, perfected by hand.
- The knife tells the shared story: a unique tool that honors the essence of maturation, material and makers.

“When the package opens, you can smell the lovely scent of our Tomasu, really bizarre”
- Tomasu
